The world comes to an end in new trailer for the third season of The Strain

There's something that keeps me coming back to Guillermo del Toro's The Strain time and time again, and I think that something is David Bradley's Professor Abraham Setrakian, the elderly, yet still bad-ass, vampire hunter. There are definitely better shows than The Strain out there, but Bradley lends the entire outing a sense of class which, combined with some bonkers vampire action, makes the show one of my guilty pleasures. The third season of The Strain is quickly approaching and a brand-new trailer has just been released which features New York City, along with the rest of the world, quickly falling to the strigoi.

"It’s been 23 days since the world as we knew it ceased to exist.”

A synopsis for The Strain's third season:

As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – our group is splintering… Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. Is there still hope to save the city and humanity?

The Strain returns to FX on August 28, 2016.
