The Wrestler clip

I recommend watching the following video with the volume turned down low, because the din from a bunch of screaming fans, filtered through a shoddy mic on an amateur DV cam does not equal music to your ears, trust me. But thankfully what you’re looking at is at least compelling, especially if you’re a fan of Mickey Rourke, Darren Aronofsky, pro wrestling, or setting up film shots. This was taken by a fan during the filming of a wrestling match at a real independent pro wrestling show in Philly for Aronofsky’s next film THE WRESTLER. If the beginning bores you, let it run for a bit and there’s a nice pay off. If you’ve been following this film, you’ll know that Rourke plays Randy “The Ram” Robinson, a washed up wrestler with a bad heart who takes one more slam at past glory. Rourke sure does have the look down. He looks like a cross between The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels and Jake the Snake.
