The X-Files reboot beams up Annabeth Gish

The gang's all here, folks! The X-Files reboot (which I'm currently erasing my entire DVR to make room for), which recently announced an appearance by original cast members the Lone Gunmen will also be featuring an encore performance by Annabeth Gish as her character Agent Monica Reyes.

Although it has been confirmed that her partner – played by TERMINATOR 2's Robert Patrick – will not be returning, it will be interesting to see how they mix her into the show considering the mixed response she got when she was introduced. Her character was brought on as more or less of a replacement for Mulder when he gave up full-time X-Filesing following the seventh season. Now that there's two believers on the team, it will be even harder for Scully to maintain her tademark skepticism.

The series premiere, "My Struggle", centers on Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.

With original cast members Mitch Pileggi, Sheila Larken, and William B. Davis also set to return, joining newcomers Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose, The X-Files will beam onto Fox with a six-episode season on January 24, 2016.
