There’s Something Wrong with the Children trailer: creepy kid movie reaches VOD in January

A couple weeks ago, we learned that Paramount Home Entertainment will be giving the creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children a VOD and digital release on January 17th. With that date now less than a month away, a trailer for There’s Something Wrong with the Children has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.

Directed by Roxanne Benjamin (Body at Brighton Rock) from a screenplay written by T.J. Cimfel and David White (the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders), There’s Something Wrong with the Children has the following synopsis: Margaret and Ben take a weekend trip with longtime friends Ellie and Thomas and their two young children. Eventually, Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is occurring when the kids behave strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight.

The film stars Alisha Wainwright (Raising Dion) and Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass) as Margaret and Ben, Amanda Crew (Final Destination 3) and Carlos Santos (Gentefied) as Ellie and Thomas, plus Briella Guiza (Ambulance) and David Mattle (Life & Beth) as the two kids.

Blumhouse Television’s Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold executive produced alongside Josh Reinhold.

There’s Something Wrong with the Children is part of an eight movie deal that was made between Blumhouse and Epix, which is soon to be renamed MGM+. In fact, the movie will be available to watch on MGM+ as of March 17th. Other films that have been released through the Blumhouse / Epix (MGM+) deal are The Deep House, A House on the Bayou, American Refugee, Torn Hearts, Unhuman, and The Visitor.

What did you think of the There’s Something Wrong with the Children trailer? Will you be watching this movie in January, or in March? Let us know by leaving a comment below. I have already watched all of the Into the Dark movies that Blumhouse made for Hulu and all of the Welcome to the Blumhouse movies they made for Amazon, so I will be watching all of the movies they make for Epix / MGM+ as well. I’m also a big fan of the Children of the Corn franchise, so it’s good to see that the creepy kid sub-genre is still alive and kicking.
