According to US News & World Report blog “Washington Whispers”, a biopic of Susan McDougal, who, along with her husband, was involved in the Whitewater real estate scandal with former president Clinton and his wife, is in the works and producers are looking to long-legged Oscar-winning bombshell Charlize Theron to portray her. What’s more, master racial experience deconstructor Paul Haggis is apparently the Hollywood power player vying for Theron in the role (they may have bonded during Haggis’ upcoming IN THE VALEY OF ELAH, in which she stars). We can assume Haggis is involved as producer but his extent beyond that – to possibly direct, that is – is still unknown. McDougal was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in jail for her refusal to testify during the ensuing trial, which can only mean one thing for the film – hot prison lezzie action!
