So it’s been widely speculated that Charlize Theron was in line to play a vital, if not lead role in the 4th MAD MAX film, entitled FURY ROAD. Get this, Theron has indeed been in official talks to play the lead (by THR), but not only that, the gorgeous South African native will most likely star alongside British actor Tom Hardy (INCEPTION, MINOTAUR).
Hardy will strap on the boots once worn by Mel Gibson, and if you’re asking why so young, the new story looks to pick up not so long after 1985’s BEYOND THUNDERDOME entry, so they want to keep Max Rockatansky relatively green.
Director of all three preceding films, George Miller, is back at the helm – and the movie looks to film in his native Australia in June of 2010.
All I know is I hope Miller gets back to ROAD WARRIOR status!
The flick though won’t hit until sometime in 2011.
