I know, I know. It’s tragic. I’m still drying the tears out of my eyes. Truth be told it was inevitable. An awesome 80s flick like THEY LIVE was just begging to be remade. Like most remakes, I don’t see why this has to happen at all. Compared to the flashbang of Hollywood movies nowadays, THEY LIVE can still scrap with the best of them. Don’t believe me? Just click through below!
You see that? That’s pure greatness right there. One of the greatest lines ever, spoken from the great ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper to boot, plus one of the best fight scenes ever filmed! There’s no possible way anything from THEY LIVE can be topped, so why try? The only thing going for this remake is that John Careptner himself will be executive producing. Carpenter directed the 1988 classic of course.
Wait… screw that. Carpenter is one of my all time favorite directors, but not even the fact that he’s executive producing can add silver lining to this remake. It’s 100% unwanted and ridiculous. It literally pains me. This idiotic remake will be coming from Universal and Strike Entertainement. Strike’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are producing with Les Mougins’ Shep Gordon executive producing alongside Carpenter.
Screw this noise, I’m going to watch the original.
