Which brings me to the next ‘they’ movie, which just began filming this week in Vancouver, cleverly titled THEY WAIT, which tells the terrifying tale of one family’s life-threatening encounter with angry spirits during Ghost Month.
After living in Shanghai for six years, Sarah and her husband, Jet, and young son, Jamie, return to North America for a family funeral. But something strange is going on. Jamie starts seeing ghosts and then falls gravely ill. Traditional western medicine offers no hope. Sarah turns to a mysterious “pharmacist” who warns that her son is being held in a death grip by a living corpse. Sarah must find out what the spirits want if she is to save her child, and she must do it before dawn, because once the sun rises at the end of Ghost Month, Jamie will be lost forever.
The ‘they’ in this flick, I’m guessing, is the family. Or the pharmacist. Or maybe even… the spirits and their living corpses. Only they know at this point. What we do know is that hottie Jamie King (Goldie from SIN CITY), Terry Chen and muthaf*ckin’ Michael Biehn star in the flick, which is being directed by Ernie Barbarash (CUBE ZERO). I’m actually quite sad that Biehn is here, only because it sounds like STD trash, and the man deserves a lot better than this… but hey, maybe it’ll rock my socks off… at least, I can hope that it will!
Oh, and did I mention this is based on a ‘true story’? Cause apparently… it is. How do you like them apples? Do you think this could be the ‘they’ movie we’ve all been waiting for? Even better than THEY LIVE, which has pretty big shoes to fill? You’re guess is as good as mine, but methinks… no. Will King get naked? For all our sakes, please say Yes… as it’ll likely be the only redeeming value. Hopefully they won’t let us down…
