Thor: Ragnarok is poised to squash Spider-Man: Homecoming in ticket sales

While most of us are still deep within the throes of a post-Halloween candy coma, Marvel is busy developing an appetite for money as THOR: RAGNAROK approaches North American theaters, this weekend. How do we know this? Earlier today, Fandango reported (via an exclusive article for Variety) that the third installment of Thor's on-screen solo adventures is currently out-selling SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING at a similar point in its sales cycle. Fandango has also stated that, so far, the Odinson's new film is already selling faster than the two previous Thor-tastic cinematic outings.

For those of you who like the play with numbers, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING webbed up a total of $117 million when it opened last July. Now, according to analysts, THOR: RAGNAROK is on track to open in the $100 million to $118 million dollar window. While those totals are almost as impressive as the mighty Mjolnir itself, it should be noted that Taika Waititi's highly-anticipated sequel has already amassed $109 million worth of coin for its international purse.

In more analytical news, Fandango recently surveyed over 1,000 moviegoers and discovered that 97% of those polled were excited to see the interactions between Thor and the Hulk, 89% were looking forward to the funnier storyline, and 88% were primed to see Blanchett.

THOR: RAGNAROK starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Benicio Del Toro, and many more will hit theaters like a bolt of lightning on November 3rd.
