Three join the cast of M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

There's no word on when M. Night Shyamalan's new film will be able to go into production, but the writer/director/producer is continuing to assemble the cast while in pandemic limbo. Last month it was announced that Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects, Greta Gerwig's LITTLE WOMEN), Thomasin McKenzie (JOJO RABBIT, Edgar Wright's upcoming film LAST NIGHT IN SOHO), Aaron Pierre (Prime Suspect 1973, Krypton), Alex Wolff (MY FRIEND DAHMER, HEREDITARY), and Vickey Krieps (PHANTOM THREAD, THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB) were in negotiations to star in the film. Now three more names have been added to the list.

The three latest actors to join the untitled thriller are Abbey Lee (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, THE DARK TOWER), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Luther, the 2006 version of THE OMEN), and Ken Leung (Lost, Inhumans).

This project is set up at Universal Pictures and was originally aiming for a February 26, 2021 release date. It had to be removed from the release schedule when the pandemic hit. We don't know anything about what Shyamalan has in store for us with this one, but he has said that it will be "weird and dark".

In fact, this is one of three "weird and dark" ideas Shyamalan has been working on. Universal already set a February 17, 2023 release date for one of the others, and Shyamalan said he might sandwich the third project in between the two that had been given dates.

It has been said that everyone is hoping the first project will be able to go into production by the end of the year.

We'll keep you updated whenever new information is made available.
