Three more join cast of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s Holmes & Watson

As we reported earlier this year, comedy duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will join forces yet again as a comedic version of Sherlock Holmes in HOLMES & WATSON. They are definitely a formidable pair, having shown amazing chemsitry together in their previous collaborations TALLADEGA NIGHTS and, most notoriously, STEP BROTHERS. Are they our generations Crosby and Hope? Only time will tell.

In any case, the film is moving forward, and three more people have joined the cast: Rob Brydon (TRISTRAM SHANDY: A COCK AND BULL STORY), Kelly Macdonald (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN), and Rebecca Hall (IRON MAN 3). Bryon will be playing Scotland Yard Inspector Lestrade; Macdonald is playing the housekeeper of the famous 221B Baker Street building, Mrs. Hudson; and Hall will be portraying Dr. Grace Hart, the first female doctor to practice in London. If I had to bet, I'd wager Hall is being set up as the requisite love interest – though let's hope she's more fleshed out than Rachel McAdams was as the (pseudo) love interest in the Robert Downey, Jr. version.

No word yet on who will play Moriarty though. Maybe Adam Scott?

Either way, HOLMES & WATSON will sleuth into theaters sometime in 2018.
