Because we needed something to pass the time between the annual After Dark Horrorfest, After Dark Films went and teamed up with Lionsgate and the SyFy Channel to bring us After Dark Originals: Eight original horror films to be released sometime this Fall. Now we’ve been keeping you in the loop regarding all eight entries into After Dark Originals, with the last update coming last week.
Today we’ve got a look at three brand new international one-sheets for the event! Two of the new posters are for films partaking in After Dark Originals while the third is for the event itself. Above you’ll find the one-sheet for the Main Event: After Dark Originals. Not too shabby but I feel like we’ve seen this before… Then below you’ll find two more posters, one for the creature feature PROWL and the other for the zombie flick RE-KILL. Coming from director Val Milev and starring Roger Cross, Jesse Garcia and Daniella Alonso, RE-KILL reads: It’s been five years since the Outbreak and the zombie menace is supposed to be waning. But the brave men and women of R-Division, who find and destroy the undead, are seeing signs of a second Outbreak which humanity may not survive. The footage about the men and women of R-Division and their grim, dangerous but essential job of exterminating re-animated humans, was shot the week previous by an embedded journalist during a long, deadly day. Only the film survived.
Next up, from director Patrik Syversen and starring Bruce Payne, Courtney Hope, Saxon Trainor, Ruta Gedmintas, Joshua Bowman, Jamie Blackley, and George Oliver, is PROWL, which reads: Amber dreams of escaping her small town and persuades her friends to accompany her apartment-hunting in the big city. When their transportation breaks down, Amber and friends gratefully accept a ride in the back of a semi. But when the driver refuses to stop and they discover the cargo is cartons of blood, they panic. Soon, panic turns to terror when the truck disgorges into a dark, abandoned warehouse where blood-thirsty creatures learn to hunt human prey, which the friends realize is what they have now become.
Joining RE-KILL and PROWL in After Dark Originals will be SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE, 51, THE TASK, HUSK, FERTILE GROUND and SECONDS APART.
Alright so After Dark Originals is basically the same thing as After Dark’s Horrorfest right? But who’re we to complain. Some of these flicks actually sound pretty damn cool, and it’s always awesome to see lesser known genre flicks get some attention now-a-days.
