Tiffany vs. Debbie Gibson in new Syfy movie!

In a battle of former 80s pop stars who would later pose for Playboy and star in really crappy made-for-TV movies, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany have signed on to star in the upcoming Syfy original film MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID. What exactly is a “gatoroid”?, you’re likely asking yourself and I’m not 100% sure but I believe Tiffany plays a park ranger who somehow creates robot alligators (alligator + android = gatoroid) to save them from extinction. Debbie Gibson meanwhile plays an an animal activist who frees snakes in the Everglades (which then grow to MEGA size proportions).

For those of you who aren’t satiated by robot alligators fighting giant snakes, the good news is that you’ll also see Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany. In the script the pair have a bar fight (but of course), which spills out into the local swamp. While I’m pleased that Syfy is throwing thousands of dollars around to make these movies, I do wish we’d have more R-rated version for Cinemax or something. I mean would it kill them to have a topless Debbie Gibson/Tiffany bar fight? My 11-year-old self is literally crying out for this.

Mary Lambert, who directed the legitimately scary film PET SEMATARY, is directing for Syfy. The film is expected to air sometime next year.
