Time for something that doesn’t suck: new images from the horror flick Sucker

David Cronenberg’s THE FLY is still one of my favorite movies ever, if not for the slow transformation from man into fly, then for how abosultely disgusting the film is. It’s a hard film to top, but that doesn’t mean I’m surprised there hasn’t been more ‘man turning into bugs’ movies out there. It seems like a no-brainer. but beyond a few forgettable flicks, man/bug hybrids just aren’t made anymore. That is, until now.

Director Michael Manasseri is currently filming a little horror flick called SUCKER in Michigan, and today we got our hands on a few images from the flick that should tickle your fancy. But first, what’s known about SUCKER? Here’s a quasi-brief synopsis: a lovable loser is having a bad day. He gets fired from his job, his car gets impounded, and he discovers his wife is having an affair with an ex co-worker. To make matters worse, he gets abducted by an evil scientist who is conducting tests of a controversial vaccine against a deadly virus that is spreading across the planet.

Also, from what I can tell, he begins to slowly but surely turn into a giant man-bug. We have a few new images from the flck, of which none show the man-bug in particular detail (though one alludes to the fact in a back shot). My senses tell me the bug in particular is a mosquito (hence the title of the film), but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see once production on the film has officially wrapped.

In the meantime, enjoy the new pics, and get ready for more on SUCKER as we hear it!
