Timecrimes poster

The fun-loving lads over at Dread Central scored a sweet peak at the first poster for the Spanish-language suspense ride, TIMECRIMES. At first glance, it may seem like just a plain pair of scissors, but if you look closer, you’ll find that they are actually being shown as the hands of a clock. That’s some cool, creative shit in my book! I think it’s a considerable step up from the somewhat generic, DARKMAN-esque look of the original overseas poster, which Jared last showed us here. Just click on the image above to view the poster in it’s entirety.

The plot for TIMECRIMES goes a little something like this: A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.

Sounds like it could be enjoyable. Plus, it’s already getting a lot of positive buzz, having recently won the Danger After Dark Audience Award at the Philadelphia International Film Festival and a Black Tulip at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. Not sure what exactly those awards signify, but I’m sure it’s something complimentary. And of course, the obligatory remake is already under way with CHILDREN OF MEN writer, Timothy Sexton, handling the script.

TIMECRIMES was written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo (I love nachos!), who also stars in it alongside Karra Elejaide, Candela Fernández, Bárbara Goenaga (below), and Juan Inciarte. It’s set to release from Magnolia Pictures some time in 2008’s future.
