New Titane poster teases fiery film from Raw director

We first saw the trailer for Raw (watch it HERE) director Julia Ducournau‘s “surreal, ultraviolent serial-killer thriller” Titane back in July, right around the time the film blew the minds of viewers at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to win the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the festival. Now Titane‘s U.S. release date of October 1st is drawing near, and distributor Neon has unveiled a new poster for the film. The trailer can be seen in the embed above, and the poster is below. Not surprisingly, the poster focuses on what already seems to be the most iconic shot from the film, an image of a woman on the hood of a car.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

Following a series of unexplained crimes, a father is reunited with the son who has been missing for 10 years.

Titane: A metal highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with high tensile strength alloys, often used in medical prostheses due to its pronounced biocompatibility.

Deadline gave away that Titane is about

a psychopathic dancer posing as a missing boy and seemingly fooling his distraught father.

Vice called Titane a “new gory masterpiece”, while Indiewire described the film as “the sweetest movie ever made about a serial killer who has sex with a car”. Ducournau has said that one source of inspiration for it was

a nightmare that was recurring. I don’t have it anymore, but that I used to have, of me giving birth to car engine pieces. It was incredibly distressing, but I always thought, ‘That’s a nice image. I like that.’ But at the same time, I’d be shaking like crazy!”

Titane stars Agathe Rousselle, Vincent Lindon, Garance Marillier, and Lais Salameh. It was produced by Jean-Christophe Reymond and executive produced by Christophe Hollebeke.
