Todd Phillips shares new photo of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker

There's plenty to get excited about when it comes to Warner Bros.' upcoming slate of DC movies, but the one I've been the most intrigued about is Todd Phillips' JOKER, which stars Joaquin Phoenix (YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE) in the title role. Production on the film wrapped up in December and Todd Phillips has been hard at work in the editing room preparing JOKER for it's October release, but he still took the time to drop a new image of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker on Instagram. Check that out below.

In addition to Joaquin Phoenix, JOKER will also star Robert De Niro as a talk show host who is somehow instrumental in the Joker’s origin, Brett Cullen as Thomas Wayne, Douglas Hodge as Alfred Pennyworth, Frances Conroy as the Joker's mother, and Zazie Beetz as a single mother who catches the interest of the man who will become the Clown Prince of Crime. Bill Camp, Shea Whigham, Marc Maron, and Glenn Fleshler also have roles in the film. Joaquin Phoenix has previously said that the project feels "unique" to other comic-book movies. "It is its own world in some ways, and maybe, mostly, it scares the f**king shit out of me or something," Phoenix said. "It might as well be the thing that scares you the most."

JOKER is set for an October 4, 2019 release.
