Tom Welling and Erica Durance have a Smallville reunion on Crisis set

Production for the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover has officially begun, and already some of the highly-anticipated event's special guest stars have assembled to join the multi-show-spanning adventure.

Today brings a reunion that many fans have been waiting for. I'm talking of course about Tom Welling and Erica Durance of SMALLVILLE fame. This afternoon, Durance posted a photo of her and Welling looking as pleased as punch to be a part of the action. In the pic, we find Welling (Clark Kent) and Durance (Lois Lane) standing alongside one another in front of what looks like a massive farmhouse. Both stars are wearing flannel and smiles as wide as Welling's broad chest. Could it be that we'll be returning to the Kent family farm as part of the crossover?

“So, I was just minding my own business, and I ran into this guy,” Durance included in the caption for her photo. “Laughed until I cried! So much fun.”

In addition to Welling and Durance reprising their respective roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh are expected to star as their versions of Superman as well. As a part of the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" plot, SMALLVILLE fans will discover the fates of both Lois and Clark after being away from the dynamic duo for nearly a decade's time.

The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will carry across ARROW, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and BATWOMAN. The 5-episode superhero spectacle kicks off with SUPERGIRL on Sunday, December 8th, which is set to be followed by BATWOMAN on Monday, December 9th. THE FLASH will follow on Tuesday, December 10th, and then the event will go on a bit of a holiday hiatus. Fear not though, my friends, the adventure will resume with ARROW on Tuesday January 14th at 8 p.m. and conclude with LEGENDS OF TOMORROW at 9 p.m.

Be sure to mark your calendars accordingly and prepare yourselves for one of the biggest superhero television events the world has ever seen!
