Top Gun to fly into Dolby Cinemas for 35th Anniversary event

Paramount Pictures has announced that as a part of this year's Top Gun Day celebration, the original film will fly back into Dolby Cinemas.

Are you prepared to feel the need for speed up on the big screen once again? How's your volleyball body looking these days? Just how menacing is the highway to the Danger Zone? You're about to find out when the blockbuster hit Top Gun returns to over 150 Dolby Cinemas at AMC across the country for an exclusive one-week engagement beginning May 13, 2021. As a way of honoring the film's 35th anniversary, Top Gun has been newly remastered and will be presented with Dolby Vision for ultra-vivid picture quality and with state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos audio for an exceptionally immersive experience.

And for fans who want to celebrate at home, Top Gun is available now on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray, which boast over four hours of bonus content, including a featurette that explores the film’s legacy and enduring popularity through interviews with Tom Cruise, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and members of the cast of the highly anticipated new film Top Gun: Maverick.

In Top Gun, an elite group of pilots competing to earn the title of “Top Gun” learn how to hotdog through the clouds by an exceptionally gifted civilian instructor. Not only does he show them how to be the best, but he also helps them to look good doing it.

Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled to touch down in theaters on July 2nd. The sequel focuses on Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, who keeps pushing the envelope after years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators. He must soon confront the past while training a new squad of graduates for a dangerous mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice.

Enjoy your Top Gun Day, everybody, and watch out for that Danger Zone.
