Total Recall remake???

I’ll start this off by saying that this is so far up the rumor tree that it’s practically rumorville’s mascot… but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some truth to it. But just be warned: this is only a rumor at this point. That said, it looks like The Weinstein’s are looking to remake the Paul Verhoeven/ Arnold Schwarzenegger classic TOTAL RECALL!!!

What the flying f*ck is right! What is this shite! The remake craze has officially gone off the deep end with this move. According to MovieHole, the Weinstein’s acquired the rights to TOTAL RECALL a while back for a hefty sum, and as it doesn’t look like Arnie will be acting anytime soon, and instead of busting out a sequel… they’re eyeing the possibility of just remaking the whole damn thing. Blasphemous! Blasphemous, I say!

Why, why, why, why, why…. WHY??? It’s just a ludicrous thought, as the film is as fresh today as it was in 1990 when it was released- how could you possibly update that and make it better? Schwarzenegger and Verhoeven? Sharon Stone? It’s a flippin’ modern day classic of sci-fi violence, and no matter how hard they try, they wouldn’t be able to remake it… or at least, remake it well.
