To quote movie critic Leonard Maltin when reviewing Lifeforce, “Whoa! Did someone get the license number of that movie?!”
And that’s exactly what it feels like when you check out the trailer for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. This freakin’ runs you over. KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations has released the trailer for the new project from Kannada-language star Yash, who had recently starred in Nitesh Tiwari’s fantasy epic Ramayana. The trailer already knows it will become the newest obsession of the film world and the swagger is presented throughout the trailer with its deliciously fun indulgence in sex and violence. And both are working together! So, for those who are tired of watered-down, cliched action films that barely raise your pulse, get ready for an adrenaline boost.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is a period gangster film directed by Geetu Mohandas and the film is produced in a joint effort by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash.
Yash will be playing dual roles in the film as Raya and Ticket. He will be joined in the cast by Nayanthara as Ganga, Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa, Akshay Oberoi as Tony, Sudev Nair as Karmadi and Darrell D’Silva as Salvador.
Yash told Variety of the film, “On the face of it, it might look like a gangster film with all the commercial things, but it’s so nuanced because there is so much of moral ambiguity or raw emotions or dark side of human or certain topics which as an artist or at this point in my life, I would like to explore those kind of things on celluloid.”
India’s big special effects action films are an amazing spectacle on the eyes. There’s a different quality about it that separates it from Hollywood movies. The creativity is always so astounding and feels like the kind of freedom we used to get when we played with action figures at a young age. Anything and everything was capable.
So, what did you think? Are you intoxicated by this trailer? Does it pique your interest?
