Unless you’re watching a kids movie, you don’t see too many films featuring dogs as the protagonists – but every dog has its day, right? PLAY DEAD is an upcoming zombie short starring canines. It’s an ingenious idea, because who else but man’s best friend would you on your side when the dead come back to life?
We have the first trailer and poster for the flick below. The short is currently in production for the Borscht Film Festival 2011 in Miami. If you like what you see, you can consider donating funding for the project on Kickstarter. There are some cool rewards if you have the dough kicking around.
The effort teams up filmmakers Andres and Diego Meza-Valdes with musicians Rachel Goodrich and Amigo the Devil. The short is described as HOMEWARD BOUND meets a zombie apocalypse, combining The Meza Brothers’ love for horror and Disney.
