Trailer: Apocalyptic film Edge of Extinction gets May release

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Hundy Gilbert Media and Lightbulb Film Distribution have provided us with a trailer and poster for writer/director Andrew Gilbert's post-apocalyptic film EDGE OF EXTINCTION, which will be released on all major On Demand and Download platforms on May 18th. A UK DVD release will follow on July 13th, and the DVD can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.

The story of this film, which is said to be an "independent, hard-hitting actioner", is set 15 years after a global apocalypse, a time when

mankind is on the verge of extinction. Civilisation no longer exists, food is scarce and most eke out a living by stealing and killing. One man clings onto life in his bunker, where staying away from others has been key to his survival. But this self-imposed isolation comes to an abrupt end when he crosses paths with another group of survivors and faces an enemy far more brutal and savage than any of them could have imagined.

Luke Hobson, Georgie Smibert, and Chris Kaye star.

Gilbert had this to say about his film and its release:

Making EDGE OF EXTINCTION and bringing its brutal post-apocalyptic world to life has been a real labour of love for us and we’re super excited to finally be showing this unique British film to the world!"

The trailer for EDGE OF EXTINCTION is embedded above, and the poster can be seen below. It's clear that this movie was made on a minuscule budget, but it looks like Gilbert was able to put together some fun action sequences with what he had to work with.
