Why we haven’t been covering this film more extensively is beyond me, but all that is changing with the official trailer and first clip we have underneath. Let’s get busy…
With a solid international cast that includes Helen Mirren, John Hurt and Andy Serkis – BRIGHTON ROCK is an adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel about a small-town hood who marries a waitress who witnessed him murdering a rival thug in order to keep her quiet. As his gang begins to doubt his abilities, the man becomes more desperate and violent.
Not sure why, but it kind of reminds of me of THE KILLER INSIDE ME, only with a local hood instead of a sheriff. That flick had some sever bouts of violence…sobering actually. And I’m hearing nothing but good things about BRIGHTON ROCK, so maybe the parallels are warranted.
BRIGHTON ROCK starts a limited run in theaters tomorrow.
