Trailer: Olga Kurylenko and Claes Bang star in thriller The Bay of Silence

Just yesterday, our own The Iceman gave the latest Olga Kurylenko genre film, THE ROOM (WATCH IT HERE – OWN IT HERE), a 7/10 review. Now we've gotten our hands on the trailer for another Kurylenko genre film that's heading our way, a thriller called THE BAY OF SILENCE. This one is based on a novel by Lisa St Aubin de Teran, and along with Kurylenko the film stars Claes Bang, Brian Cox, Assaad Bouab, Alice Krige, and Caroline Goodall.

Goodall also wrote the screenplay for the film, which was directed by Paula van der Oest. The story picks up when

Will (Bang) discovers his wife Rosalind (Kurylenko) and their three children have suddenly disappeared.  Setting off on a frantic search across Europe to find them, he finally locates them in a remote village in northern France, but his relief quickly turns to horror when Will discovers his baby son has mysteriously died. Will believes his wife Rosalind is innocent of their son's suspected murder, only to discover the devastating truth behind her past links her to another unsolved crime.

That sounds interesting to me. I'm a big fan of Kurylenko from her work in movies like QUANTUM OF SOLACE and OBLIVION, and she has a great supporting cast here, so I'm looking forward to THE BAY OF SILENCE.

The film was funded and executive produced by Media Finance Capital, with Imperative Entertainment, Vigilants, TS Entertainment, Ngage Productions, the Netherlands Film Fund (NFF), and Filse Liguria Italy.

Goodall produced with Cheyanne Kane, Alain De Levita, and Jason Newmark.

Vertical Entertainment is planning to give THE BAY OF SILENCE a release in the U.S. on August 28th.
