Transmorphers: Mech Beasts trailer: The Asylum’s sci-fi adventure reaches theatres this weekend

Those mockbuster makers at The Asylum are at it again. When the first live-action Transformers movie was released back in 2007, The Asylum got in on the giant robot action by releasing a movie called Transmorphers. The Transformers sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen followed in 2009 – so The Asylum responded with the Transmorphers prequel Transmorphers: Fall of Man. Since then, the Transformers franchise has continued to grow. There was Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014, Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017, and the spin-off prequel Bumblebee in 2018. Another prequel, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is in theatres right now. And while The Asylum has let several Transformers movies come and go without meeting them with a Transmorphers mockbuster, this year they’re finally reviving the franchise with Transmorphers: Mech Beasts! You can watch the film’s trailer in the embed above.

Transmorphers: Mech Beasts will be joining Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on the big screen this Friday, June 30th, for a theatrical release that will run through July 6th.

The previous Transmorphers films informed us that in 2009, a race of aliens piloting giant robots conquered Earth and forced humanity to live underground. While Transmorphers: Fall of Man showed us that alien invasion, Transmorphers took place three hundred years after the aliens took control of Earth.

Directed by Michael Su from a screenplay by Joe Roche and Lauren Pritchard, Transmorphers: Mech Beasts has the following synopsis: 20 years after the events of Transmorphers, a newer, more advanced species of alien robot descends on a rebuilt Earth, threatening once again to destroy the planet. So it seems we’re heading back to the 24th century for this one.

The film stars Tom Arnold, Anthony Jensen, Jolene Andersen, Tania Fox, Andrew Rogers, Mica Javier, Chad Ridgely, Mark Justice, Charlotte Bjornbak, Jessica DeBonville, Matthew Gademske, Dezaré Foster, Chris Carney, Todd Karner, Geena Alexandra, and Angel Mendoza.

Transmorphers: Mech Beasts will be showing at the following theatres: Laemmle Monica Film Center in Santa Monica, CA; Hickory Ridge Cinemas in Brunswick, OH; Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis, MN; O Cinema South Beach in Miami Beach, FL; and Aurora Cineplex in Roswell, GA.
