Well it seems like Mike Vogel (POSEIDON) must have impressed the hell out of J.J. Abrams on the set of CLOVERFIELD/1-18-08/ SOMETHING WITH MONSTERS because if the whispers are to be believed (and by whispers I mean IESB.net), then he’s about to be cast in the lead role of James T. Kirk in Abrams’ STAR TREK reboot. As we’ve heard, other casting involves Zachary Quinto from ‘Heroes’ playing Spock, Leonard Nimoy as the older Mr. Spock and Zoe Saldana playing Uhura. Is this good news? Sure, this guy looks the part and I haven’t seen him in anything that has annoyed me yet. And as we know what does or does not annoy me is the number one criteria for casting major film roles. Good job Abrams, maybe you want to hit us with a new CLOVERFIELD trailer or something, now?
