Trick/Treat DVD features

This past Monday, Mr. Ammon gave us the great news that Michael Dougherty’s TRICK ’R TREAT would indeed by hitting DVD and Blu-ray this October just in time for the holiday it so lovingly depicts. And now, those Fango fiends just got the word from Dougherty himself on what special features the discs will entail. It looks like there’s going to be some pretty fun shit! Take a look at what “Mr. October 31st” said:

“There will be a standard-edition DVD which will pretty much just have the movie, and then the Blu-ray disc will have all the special features, ’cause that’s the way things are moving these days. There will be a documentary, the animated short film, SEASON’S GREETINGS, that kind of inspired the feature, deleted scenes, outtakes, all sorts of fun. And there will be a few different audio commentaries that are still in the works; I don’t know exactly who’ll be on them yet, but definitely me and hopefully some of the cast.”

Hmm, I never knew that TRICK was inspired by a short film. The things I’m learning already from these special features! I do hope there’s a DVD edition with all the bonuses that will be on the Blu-ray. Not all of us have Blu-ray players yet. Regardless, though, I’m still completely stoked to finally be checking out the flick. I normally never purchase a DVD without ever seeing it first (as of now, BEHIND THE MASK has been my one exception), but I already know that TRICK ’R TREAT will be the second. As soon as a precise release date is given, we’ll be sure to let you know.
