Jesus, for a brief moment, TRON changed my childhood. Sure TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III changed my childhood too, but TRON is credible. No one time travelled to rural Japan due to sceptre-based problems in that one. It’s amazing that after that, Steven Lisberger went on to HOT PURSUIT and SLIP STREAM with Mark Hamill. Now though, Lisberger is back, almost a decade since his last flick, with something Reliant Pictures’ Thom Mount alleges is ‘way ahead of its time, just like TRON was.’ The film will be called SOUL CODE and was written with Jessica Chobot, who he actually met at a TRON screening. Pretty sweet, no? Variety reports that: Lisberger will direct the story of a tech pioneer who has perfected a way to download and transfer a person’s memory. Script examines what happens when her memory is placed into a much younger woman’s body.
I’m sure I might have heard some concept like this before somewhere, but screw it the guy made TRON.
