A few days ago, we reported the news that Dreamworks is looking to get a spooky franchise going with a film version of the Musunahi: Museum of SuperNatural History website, which caters to all things odd, unexplainable and esoteric in the scientific community. (Basically, it would be Fox Mulder’s site if he were a blogger.) They found a writer with the quickness: Etan Cohen.
Cohen is a big-shot scribe in Hollywood nowadays. The writer contributed to TROPIC THUNDER, MADAGASCAR 2, and IDIOCRACY, and has a plethora of projects in the works, including MEN IN BLACK III – which probably went a long way toward his landing this gig, as it’s from the same producing team of Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.
The plot of the film – which still doesn’t have an official title – will center on the curator of a covert organization known as the Museum of SuperNatural History who must seek out and protect the world’s best-kept secrets.
The site’s creator, Ernest Lupinacci, is on board as an executive producer. No further crew has been announced as of yet.
