HBO must really like what they see from “True Blood’s” numbers, because just two weeks into the third season of the vampire show it has renewed it for a fourth.
The total audience for the season premiere last Sunday was 38% higher than a year ago. The first two airings drew a total of 6.4 million viewers – damn good numbers for a premium channel. (Just for the sake of comparison, “Dexter'”s fourth season finale last year drew 2.6 million viewers, a Showtime original series record.)
HBO has ordered 12 episodes and will begin shooting early next year in Los Angeles. The fourth season will air next summer.
I must admit to not being a part of the “True Blood” fanclub, but I’ve only ever seen the very first episode. It did nothing for me, unfortunately, but maybe it’s worth another look… I know that castmember Deborah Ann Woll is!
