Variety reports today that the Joel Schumacher thriller THE NUMBER 23 (which we first told you about here), has added a leading lady. Elizabeth Shue is set to join Jim Carrey in the flick.
Carrey will portray a man who becomes obsessed and haunted upon reading a book that seems to be about his life but ends with a murder. The number 23 is woven throughout the plot.
No word yet on Shue’s role, but I’m guessing she’ll play a woman who starts to believe Carrey and tries to help him. Doesn’t really matter though, since it’s Elizabeth Freakin’ Shue! I’ve had an unrelenting crush on her since she first stole Ralph Maccio’s heart in THE KARATE KID.
