Tulsa King Season 2: Taylor Sheridan’s new series starring Sylvester Stallone to ride again on Paramount+

After debuting as the highest single-day start for Paramount+, Tulsa King Season 2, starring Sylvester Stallone, is getting a green light. Taylor Sheridan‘s universe is performing like gangbusters on Paramount+. Tulsa King is the latest in a great lineup of drama that has audiences galloping toward the streamer for adult-oriented drama.

“Tulsa King scored as the #1 new series of the year, topping all others including the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, with its preview on Paramount Network, and on Paramount+, it shattered records, driving us to our biggest new sign-up day in history – which is why we instantly greenlit season two,” said Chris McCarthy, President/CEO, Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios. Tulsa King together with Mayor of Kingstown, 1883 and the upcoming 1923, undeniably confirm the success of our strategy to franchise Yellowstone and use it to supercharge streaming growth – none of which would be possible without the creative mastermind of Taylor Sheridan.”

Move over, The Walking Dead! There’s a new craze taking the streaming space by the horns, and it’s wearing designer shoes and a bespoke suit. It’s been a hot minute since audiences have become so enamored with a universe of series like the one Sheridan has created. I’ll give it up for Paramount. They saw the writing on the wall and went balls-to-the-wall with Sheridan’s ideas for expansion.

“With the combination of the incomparable Sylvester Stallone and Taylor Sheridan’s darkly comedic twist on the beloved mobster genre, we have found our latest hit in Tulsa King,” said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, Paramount Streaming. “The series’ premiere on Paramount+ helped drive a record sign-up day fueled by our unique ability as Paramount Global to tap into Paramount Network’s incredible Yellowstone audience.”

“We could not be more excited about the success of Tulsa King,” said David C. Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios. “It’s a fun, fresh show that audiences are truly embracing in no small part because of its star, Sylvester Stallone. We are thankful to Chris McCarthy and MTV Entertainment Studios for their continued support, and we are looking forward to getting back on set for season two.”

It’s no surprise Stallone is a driving force behind Paramount’s recent increase in viewership. General audiences love the Italian Stallion, and Stallone is known for being picky about which projects he agrees to shoot. Tulsa King is another feather in Stallone’s cap, but it’s a headdress for Paramount. Until Sheridan’s well runs dry (unlikely to happen anytime soon), Paramount will be there to put his ideas into production. Strap in and enjoy the ride, folks.
