Certain images just reek of bad things to come. One of those for me is a forest at night. Everything is so close and loud and f*cking dark. It’s not always scary to watch characters stumble around in woods that are basically well lit soundstages, but the real thing can be terrifying.
All of which is why Sheldon Turner’s (SNAKES ON A PLANE) newest pitch sounds so intriguing to me. Titled IN DARK WOODS, the plot is being kept close to the vest, but it’s described as a dark revenge thriller.
Nice! I think the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way production banner picked it up is great news too, since IMHO he tends to actively seek out interesting and well developed properties.
