Oh the good old fashioned haunted house flick. With remakes, 3D, torture porn and Japanese flicks being the ‘next hot thing’ the past few years, we haven’t really been seeing much on the haunted house front. That’s a shame really, considering a solid haunted house flick is always good for an entertaining couple of hours. It’s with that mindset today that I bring you news on a… Yup, you guess it, a haunted house project!
Now this new project is actually a television series, simply titled “The Haunted,” and is described as a cross between THE AMITYVILLE HORROR and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. Hmm… I don’t know what to say to that. Aren’t they kind of the same thing? So what are they saying here… That “The Haunted” will be like THE AMITYVILLE HORROR in the sense that it’s about a haunted house, yet maybe the specific ‘hauntings’ are more along the lines of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY? Well wouldn’t that be just like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY then? Oh what a mess.
But we’re just going to forget about that and move right into the details on “The Haunted.” Coming from Reydon Shores Entertainment, “The Haunted” has already scored a cast that includes Khol Vaughn-Michael Bladen, Ann Nguyen, and Michael John Feig. It’s also been announced that Russell Stuart will be directing “The Haunted” based on a script by Cesare Farfan. If you head on over to the project’s official website all you’ll find right now is an early teaser poster for the project, which you can check out below.
Sandra and her boyfriend John have finally moved in together, but little did they know, their new home was the site of a gruesome murder-suicide decades earlier. Sandra begins losing touch with reality when she starts witnessing apparitions of the murders in front of her that only she can see. Her relationship starts to suffer as John feels that Sandra can’t determine what’s real and what is just a nightmare.
Unable to explain what is happening to her, Sandra hires a paranormal investigator to determine the cause of the disruptions. She learns that the same escaped mental patient that murdered a group of teens during a house party 35 years earlier still haunts her house.
Simple enough. Now principal photography has just started on “The Haunted” in the Los Angeles area so hopefully we get some more goods on “The Haunted” soon! As soon as we hear about it, so will you!
