The 1974 novel tells the story of Kit – a girl who is forced to attend a boarding school where she is one of only four students. Upon arrival, she immediately feels something is very off about the house. All the student rooms are locked from the outside and some of the teachers seem very interested in Kit.
Wyck Godfrey, the TWILIGHT producer, is in talks to produce the adaptation. DOWN A DARK HALL would not be the first of Duncan’s novels to be made into a movie, as her previous adapted work includes I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and HOTEL FOR DOGS.
