Yes, I realize that she won an Academy Award, and that she’s in the X-MEN movies- there’s just something about her that bugs me, and she didn’t exactly wow me with her previous horror romp, DARKNESS. That being said, check out the synopsis for the show: “True Blood” takes place in a world in which vampires can buy Japanese-made synthetic blood. Their integration into a small Louisiana town causes quite a stir, and a love story ensues between Bull Comton, a vampire, and Sookie Stackhouse, an innocent waitress who can read people’s minds.
Could be cool… I guess. The shows’ pilot just scored two new cast members to star opposite Paquin: Stephen Moyer and Brook Kerr. Moyer will be playing the vampire and love interest known as Bull to the mind-reading waitress, played by Paquin. Kerr plays a barkeep who has got a smart head on her shoulder.
Written for the screen and directed by Alan Ball, TRUE BLOOD just sounds like a ho-hum vampire flick- but as I haven’t read any of the books, and have already stated my dislike for Paquin, it’s no real wonder the show could be lit on fire and thrown out a window and I wouldn’t care one bit. It’ll be interesting to see if HBO will eventually pick it up, or pass it on… but at least this chick’s hot!
