With all the highs and lows of the summer movie season already taking effect (and it’s still only May!), there’s this little movie coming out in July, maybe you’ve heard of it…called THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. It stars Christian Bale as Batman, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, and Tom Hardy as Bane, amongst other great stars like Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Modine, Liam Neeson, Marion Cotillard, and Gary Oldman.
Well, if you were suffering from withdrawals or had somehow lost sight of the third and final film in director Christopher Nolan’s Bat-trilogy, then these TV spots are here to remind you of what’s in store.
Take in some Bat-awesomeness:
It’s interesting how much lighter in tone these two spots are in comparison to the bleak trailers we’ve seen so far, which paint the film with a serious sense of tension and anxiety, much like a Michael Mann heist film. I suppose when appealing to a broader audience, via TV, things need to be a bit more…accessible.
Either way, the spots look great, and it’s nice to see a bit of humor in there (“My wife??”). Great stuff. These TV spots are like another log on the fire to keep the flames, ahem, rising, until the movie smacks the shit out of theaters on July 20, 2012.
