Jake Wade Wall continues to be the remake king with news today that Universal Pictures has picked up his pitch for a remake of ANGUISH. The original was a 1987 Spanish horror flick directed by Bigas Luna.
This time Luna will take an executive producer role on the movie-within-a-movie tale. In it an audience in a small theater watches a pic about an optometrist on a killing spree, as a maniac begins killing the moviegoers.
I just have to hope that they retain an optometrist as the movie villain. That’s waaaaay too much fun to let go.
