Unique Features & David Milch bringing PS3 game Heavy Rain to the big screen

Well here’s an intriguing project that was just announced over at Variety. Apparently Unique Features and filmmaker David Milch are starting work on an adaptation of the popular PlayStation 3 game HEAVY RAIN for Warner Bros.. Now I’m an X-Box kind of guy so I’ve got not idea what the deal is with this game, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, so let me take this opportunity to tell you all about it.

Created by developers Quantic Dream and based on a 2,000-page script written by founder and CEO David Cage, HEAVY RAIN is a noir-style video game that was released last year. Scope out the rundown for the game:

“Heavy Rain” spans four days of mystery and centers on the hunt for a murderer known as the Origami Killer. Four characters, each following his own leads and with his own motives, take part in a desperate attempt to prevent the killer from claiming a new victim, with each character’s decisions affecting the plans of the other three.

So what do you think? Does it have some potential? Anyone out there play the game and want to hit us with how they think it’ll adapt to the big screen? Warner Bros. have plans to fast track this shite so Milch is expected to start work on the script as soon as he’s finished with his duties on the HBO show “Luck,” which he serves as creator and exec producer.

So that’s all we’ve got for right now but I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more on HEAVY RAIN in the coming weeks. As soon as we hear any updates regarding the project you can bet we’ll be quick to pass them along to all of you!
