Universal is bringing M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit to your home

M. Night Shyamalan's THE VISIT reached cinema screens in September and not only pulled in a nice profit – earning over $91 million worldwide on a budget of $5 million – but also became the director's most well-reviewed film since SIGNS in 2002. Arrow in the Head's own Jake Dee gave it a 6/10 and our managing editor Eric Walkuski gave it an 8/10 review, in which he dropped a quote that Universal is featuring heavily as they prepare to get the film out onto home video: "What JAWS did for sharks and PSYCHO did for showers, THE VISIT will do for grandparents."

I didn't make it to the theatre to see THE VISIT, so I'm looking forward to getting to check it out sometime in the next couple months. Universal has scheduled it for release on Digital HD on December 15, followed by a DVD/Blu-ray/On Demand release on January 5th.

Starring Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Olivia DeJonge, Peter McRobbie, and Deanna Dunagan, THE VISIT tells the following story:

When Becca and Tyler are sent to their grandparents’ secluded Pennsylvania farmhouse for a weeklong stay, they quickly discover something is not right with the elderly couple. Faced with strange rules and increasingly frightening behavior, the children soon realize it will take all their wits to make it home alive.

The DVD/Blu-ray special features include:

– Alternate Ending

– Deleted Scenes

– The Making of The Visit

– Becca’s Photos
