Update on the November release for Evil Dead 2 Dead By Dawn 25th Anniversary Blu-ray

A little while we told you that the 25th Anniversary Edition of EVIL DEAD 2: DEAD BY DAWN is coming to Blu-ray. Now I know what you are thinking ‘this is already out on blu-ray’ and yes one version is already out.

The previously released version did not go over too well with fans, seems the powers that be want to fix that. In a recent interview Michael Felsher (Red Shirt Pictures) told Fangoria “Lionsgate is aware of how dissatisfied people were with the transfer on the previous Evil Dead II Blu-ray, and are taking steps to solve that issue for the new edition.”

The press release for the upcoming Blu-ray stated that the film will have a new HD 1080p transfer. Tentative specs are as follows:

• • All-new Road to Wadesboro: The Location of Evil Dead II featurette

• • Vintage featurettes and behind-the-scenes footage
• • TV spots and trailers

Now that sounds like a good release, sign me up please! The classic film was directed by Sam Raimi, it stars Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry, Dan Hicks, Kassie Wesley DePaiva and Ted Raimi.
