Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic PROMETHEUS has been doing a reasonable job at remaining classified… but even though they’ve tried to swerve us away from the idea that the movie is a legit prequel to the ALIEN franchise, we’re slowly getting details that verify it as such.

The site Alien Prequel News got word from someone who supposedly spotted hungry xenomorph ancestors on the movie’s Pinewood set: “Though security on the set is very tight with the good weather, dock doors have been open and cast and crew have been enjoying lunch outdoors. I can confirm seeing 3 aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders.”

More specifics: “The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that’s a clue. I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film.”

The movie will reportedly also feature actors Emun Elliott (recently seen with Sean Bean in BLACK DEATH) and Benedict Wong, perhaps best known for his catastrophic shield alignment in SUNSHINE.

Scott’s curious top secret project is due June 8, 2012 and delves (perhaps) into the history of the deadly Aliens and the Space Jockey species, and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green and Kate Dickie.
