Vengeance reigns from all sides in The Padre trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Vertical Entertainment has debuted a trailer for an indie crime thriller titled THE PADRE. Directed by Jonathan Sobol (THE ART OF THE STEAL, CITIZEN DUANE), the upcoming film stars Tim Roth, Nick Nolte, Luiz Guzmán, Marie Paquim, and Valeria Henriquez. The movie tells the tale of the Padre (Roth), a small-time con man on the run from his dogged pursuers, U.S. Court Justice Nemes (Nolte) and local police officer Gaspar (Guzmán). When the Padre is caught mid-con, he flees the scene in a stolen car, unaware that a precocious 16-year-old girl, Lena (Henriquez), is stowing away in the back seat. After she blackmails him into letting her join his journey, the duo plan their biggest heist yet – not always aware of the dangers of working with each other and the law closing in on them.

Staged in a rich Columbian setting, the film appears to have some intriguing characters as well as several plots for revenge all coming to a head as bullets start flying. If you're down to check out THE PADRE, you can catch it in select theaters and on Video On Demand beginning on September 28th.
