Hey, we’ve got ourselves another Aussie thriller today! Only this one appears to be way more hardcore, which on this site is never a bad thing! This one’s called THE HORSEMAN and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with Ichabod Crane or a flaming jack-o-lantern. It may, however, feature some guys losing their heads. I only say that because this is a revenge thriller and the guy out for retribution is one insane mother-f*cker… and he has every right to be. Check out the plot:
Christian, the father of a recently deceased teenager, embarks on a mad mission of savage payback. After watching a video featuring the last people to see his daughter alive, Christian carves his way through a pack of lowlife pornographers who respond with violence of their own. Meanwhile, Alice, the teenaged hitchhiker he has picked up along the way, remains oblivious to the mounting body count.
It sounds only slightly similar to The Arrow’s beloved DEATH SENTENCE. Though an indie, I really think HORSEMAN has the horsepower to make some major noise in the genre. I mean, look at that f*cking pic up top. That’s one intense dude! You can find one more pic below.
The flick was written and directed by Steven Kastrissios. It stars Peter Marshall as Christian, Caroline Marohasy as Alice, Brad McMurray, Jack Henry, and Evert McQueen. HORSEMAN (great title, by the way) is having its world premiere at the 57th Melbourne International Film Festival.
