It’s called THE PAPERBOY, and before you get all excited and shit, NO- it’s not the videogame adaptation of the classic Nintendo game from the 80s. Sorry. I know, I had my hopes up too. It’s also not a remake of the 1994 ‘horror’ flick THE PAPER BOY, and I think we can all be thankful for that. No, Verhoeven’s PAPERBOY is set in and around Moat County Florida in the 1960s, and is a murder investigation/crusading journalist/serial killer mystery. Got that? Based on the novel by Pete Dexter’, it appears that it has plenty of dark undertones and murder to keep Verhoeven busy and us happy… I can’t wait!
