Victim of Love trailer promises a bloody and stylish horror thriller

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Partially funded through a successful Kickstater campaign, writer/director Jesper Isaksen's feature debut VICTIM OF LOVE is currently making the festival rounds, and will be receiving a Digital release in Denmark on November 23rd. As the film makes its way out into the world, we've gotten our hands on the trailer, which is embedded above.

VICTIM OF LOVE has the following synopsis:

Charly is looking for his American girlfriend, Amy, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a vacation stay at a hotel in Copenhagen. A few months later Charly decides to revisit the hotel to finally solve the mystery once and for all. However, Charly's investigation is quickly derailed by the mysterious and flirtatious receptionist, Felicija, and his own gradually failing judgement that leads him into a phantasmagorical nightmare.

Rudi Kohnke, Siff Andersson, and Louise Cho star.

The movie's official website says the filmmakers' mission was to

make a dense & bloody – yet highly stylised, psychological horror-thriller inspired by MANDY (Cosmatos), THE NEON DEMON (Refn), THE SHINING (Kubrick) and the works of Lars Von Trier. Simply put: to make the best and most interesting horror-thriller in recent Danish history of filmmaking thus giving the Danish horror-genre a boost and hopefully a well deserved revival – ALL within a 60,000 USD budget!

This does look impressive for a debut feature, it appears that Isaksen was able to give his film a cool visual style. Check out the trailer and see what you think!
