Vincent goes to Dead Country

Remember young Andy from CHILD’S PLAY? It’s been a looong time since we last saw the kid who twice squared off against that cackling a-hole Chucky (if you think about it the kid was bad-ass – Chucky was able to kill about 200 people EXCEPT Andy) – well, we received a heads-up that he’s making a return to the horror genre – from his new director Andrew Merkelbach no less.

Merkelbach wrote us: Alex Vincent, who played the pint-sized hero of the first two Child’s Play movies, will return to the big screen in Dead Country, a new zombie film currently lensing in Australia. Vincent, along with several other horror-film favourites (like A Nightmare on Elm Street 4’s Lisa Wilcox, Troma chief Lloyd Kaufman and Night of the Living Dead’s William Butler), will appear as himself in the movie, shooting under the direction of Andrew Merkelbach. They join the previously announced Mandy Kane, Zoran Babic, Andrew Merkelbach, Carla D. Delphine and Julius Perks.

Good to see the young man jumping on the horror caboose once again – it seems like all the kids who got their start that way can’t stay far for long. We’ll keep updating you as more info comes in…

In the meantime, here’s a refresher on what exactly this Aussie zombie flick’s really about: When a space ship containing hazardous material explodes over a small rural town, a deadly virus is unleashed upon the population, turning them in to zombies. Only the alien being responsible for the terrible accident and a small group of survivors can stop the epidemic from spreading, but first they have to survive the experience.

(And yes, that’s an actual still from the flick below. This movie’s going to be amazing…)
