von Trier’s Antichrist

If the gorefest THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST was a hit with the Christian community, and the Tom Hanks-mullet powered thriller THE DA VINCI CODE got them all riled up, then it should be interesting to see how director Lars von Trier’s next film project ANTICHRIST will stir the pot. Given the subject matter, and the fact the church tends to over analyze and therefore over react to anything that goes against their beliefs, I think this one will piss a few people off… and that’s a good thing!


Described by Production Weeklyas a horror film, ANTICHIRST tells a story set in nature and based on the theory that it was Satan, not God, who created the world.


Yeah, there may be a few pissed off folks out there, but besides that… what an original and totally cool idea! Though it’s not altogether something that hasn’t been thought of before, it is a first to see on film, and for that I applaud von Trier. It should be interesting to see how this flick turns out!


von Trier is responsible for DANCER IN THE DARK, and an assload of other European films, with this being one of his few ‘English’ movies. Details are limited at this time, but know that we’ll keep you posted on everything ANTICHRIST as we hear it!
