WandaVision Season 2 isn’t going to happen, according to Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab

Not that I ever expected to get another season, but Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab says that Marvel isn’t making WandaVision Season 2.

“It’s like a crazy world,” Diab told SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar). “Even with the successful shows, like WandaVision, they’re not doing season two. She jumped into a film, maybe she’s [Wanda Maximoff] going to come back or not. I don’t know. And that’s exciting.”

WandaVision was conjured by Marvel after a year-and-a-half drought of MCU content. Fans ate it up and delighted in the show’s approach to a variety of sitcom styles across decades of entertainment. WandaVision also packed an emotional punch that left fans of Marvel’s marquee couple (Wanda and Vision) reeling with heartbreak. While some were clearly hoping for another round of episodes to continue the story, it sounds as if there will not be a WandaVision Season 2. Thankfully, Wanda’s MCU journey will continue in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Additionally, WandaVision‘s Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) is getting a spinoff series titled Agatha: House of Harkness. Details about the show are scarce, though I’m sure there will be plenty of toil and trouble.

“I’ve been at Marvel too long to say a definite ‘no’ to anything as far as a second season of WandaVision,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously said during a 2021 TCA conference. “Lizzie Olsen will go from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange film.”

While Wanda’s level of involvement with the MCU is unknown, it sounds like Moon Knight could be sticking around for years to come. “But I can tell you for a fact, I can see him in the next 10 years, not just the next film,” Diab said. “He’s a very interesting character. He’s probably the most interesting character for any actor to play. Oscar is doing a great job. People already like him even from the trailer. I think the show’s going to resonate with people, so I see him staying for a long time.”

Do you think Diab is correct about Marvel not making any plans for a second season of WandaVision? Did you expect there to be one? Are you excited for Moon Knight to premiere on Disney+ on March 30th? Let us know in the comments section below.
